Caring auto brand Toyota is dedicated to deepening its ties with the community with its second-year sponsorship of the Latinos in Tech Innovation and Social Media (LATISM) 2012 Conference happening in Houston next week. Expected to accommodate about a thousand attendees, the flagship event will join social media and technology influences, community government officials, and educators to share and explore best practices and discuss resources.

Ten years ago, the typical America traditionally viewed hatchback models as fuel- and cost-efficient vehicles that were a lacking in the style and power departments. Catering to this opinion, Toyota built no-frills vehicles like the Toyota Matric compact hatch for the U.S. market, while European markets received the Toyota Auris, a significantly more sophisticated compact hatchback that Toyota knew was too expensive to appeal to North American buyers when it first debuted.

In 1972, anxious to bring its line of new pickups to the North American market, Toyota initiated a partnership with Atlas Fabricators, a metalwork factory in Long Beach, CA. This facility, which produces truck beds for vehicles exported from Japan, marked the start of Toyota Auto Body California, and thus, the beginning of the brand's foray into North America.

A very unique Toyota Tundra recently raised an impressive $100,000 for the Emporia Community Foundation, a charity that aid the citizens of Emporia, KS, with the help of a Toyota dealership in Orange County, FL due to its extremely playful paint job. The pickup truck's paint job makes it looks quite old and used at first glance, but after a longer look, viewers realize it's simply a well-crafted paint job by Sherwin-Williams.

Toyota has built a solid reputation for being an eco-friendly automaker. Its "green" models, like the Toyota Prius, have demonstrated to consumers for many years that the company is devoted to sustainability. One of the newest Toyota "green machines" is the TMG EV P002 race car, which was inspired by the brand's first hybrid racer- the Toyota TS030 HYBRID and operates using all-electric power. It follows the (also impressive) TMG EV P001 racer.

Have you seen a trend on the roads in Owings Mills, MD lately? You may have noticed an elevated number of Toyota Prius vehicles cruising the streets. Japanese automaker Toyota was on top for several years as the world's largest automaker (beginning in 2008), but recently, after the company was tragically affected by the tsunami in Japan, it lost its title. Now, however, the brand is back on top thanks to excellent sales of new Toyota vehicles so far this year. Recently, Toyota forecasted its profits would more than double in 2012 to reach a five year sales-mark high.

The Toyota Venza might have made its debut only four years ago, but that isn't stopping Toyota from giving it some major updates for the 2013 model year. The 2013 model Venza was on display at the New York Auto Show recently, and it appears more stylish than ever before!  It also features several new packages and options, as well as elevated standard features.
