Is your car ready for the winter weather our area will soon be getting? Our Toyota service center can help you prepare. These are the things you’ll want to do sooner rather than later.

Check Your Heater

Chances are good that you’ve already had to use your heater quite a bit. But, if it takes forever to get your car warm – or isn’t doing much heating at all – it needs to be looked at. Even if it seems fine, it could be worth having it checked out to ensure it will make it through the winter.

Replace Your Wipers

If your wiper blades aren’t in the best shape, strongly consider having them replaced. They’ll soon need to do a lot of work to clear snow and sleet from your windshield. You should also make sure that you have enough wiper fluid.

Inspect Your Tires

What do the treads look like on your tires? Are they still deep or are they getting shallow? If it’s the latter, think about replacing them. You’ll need as much traction as possible when roads become icy. Putting snow tires on for the season may also be a good idea.

Test the Battery

You need to know that your battery will get your car started no matter how low temperatures get. This is why it pays to get it tested. This will let you know how much charge it has left and whether or not you should have it replaced.

The service center at Heritage Toyota Owings Mills will make sure your car gets the care and attention it needs to deal with the cold season. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
