Flashy and fast sports cars have been a familiar association with Toyota throughout the brand's history. Recently, various reports and rumors concerning sports cars in the new Toyota lineup have been pouring in.

At the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show last month, the Japanese automaker unveiled its Yaris Hybrid-R Concept, which before the debut was widely speculated to be a successor to the Supra.  After the introduction of the hatchback concept, Toyota Europe's Executive Vice President, Karl Schlicht informed the press that the brand was mulling over options for possible ranges of sports cars to be offered in the future lineup.

The reveal of the Yaris Hybrid-R certainly proves the brand's capability and increases anticipation for more performance models, like a Supra replacement.

There is also further speculation that TMG, the manufacturer of Toyota's performance parts based in Germany, will be spearheading the potential sports car project.

Of course, these are all mostly rumors at the current time and when R & H Toyota finds out more, we will be sure to share the updates with our readers in the Reisterstown, MD area here on our blog.
