Recently at the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans race, automakers from around the globe gathered to put their racers to the ultimate endurance test. Naturally, Japanese automaker Toyota was in attendance and made their presence known, especially after placing two vehicles in the overall top five.
To be specific, Toyota's TS030 Hybrids race models, powered by 3.4-liter V8 engines, came in second and fourth place after racing at speeds over 100 miles per hour for a straight 24 hours. It's hard to imagine driving for that long and the race wasn't without its fair share of obstacles. The racing teams faced challenges including extreme weather like heavy rain and even sliding off the track, like the #7 racer did, but still managed to pull off fourth place.
The TS030 model that came in second place was driven by Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Beumi, and Stephane Sarrazin. We are certain that the automaker will put extra efforts into a model for next year with the right amount of modifications for the trio to snatch first place.
At R & H Toyota, we are pleased that the racers have validated new Toyota models in terms of durability and endurance by their performance in the race that provided many challenges.
