Toyota is always creating and showing off its latest innovations. For example, recently, the brand showcased a rather impressive new product: wireless mat phone chargers.

This new wireless car mat will give drivers the opportunity to charge their phones without actually ever plugging them in using magnetic induction. The wireless mats are said to be part of a $1,950 "technology package" that also comes with features such as automatic high beams and radar cruise control.

Toyota is certainly breaking ground in terms of the new technology, and we predict that other auto brands will follow suit shortly after Toyota releases its wireless mats in 2013 (Dodge is reportedly already reportedly working on a similar product).

For current car owners not yet ready to trade their beloved vehicle for a new Toyota model, there are several other wireless charging options available, including hand-cranked chargers for emergency situations and juicebox charging stations (most often seen in trendy bars around NYC, these mobile phone charging stations give users the opportunity to charge their smart phones in public places for about $1 or $2.
