Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and wheelchair-accessible van manufacturer, The Braun Corporation, gave Rachel le Friedman and Chris Chapman a wedding gift the loving couple is certain to remember for a long time to come. As you might guess, the gift was a vehicle... but not just any vehicle... a special wheel-chair accessible van for Rachelle to own and hopefully eventually drive herself.
See, Rachelle and Chris were going through the wedding plan motions like any other "normal" couple. Then, on the night of her bachelorette party, she was paralyzed from a tragic accident.
Rachelle was loaned a van from BraunAbility and local mobility dealer Van Products Inc., so that she could continue to attend wedding -planning appointments. Before, Rachel le and Chris were temporarily loaned the van, Rachelle's mother was responsible for transporting Rachel to all of her appointments.
Explaining the tremendous benefit of having the van on loan, Rachelle said, "The van's made all the difference in the world. Not only has it saved my mom's back, it's just made it so much easier to get out and do things. I've, missed this level of comfort, convenience, and independence. Next up... learning to drive on my own!"1

Seeing the impact the van had in helping Rachelle, Chris and Rachelle's mother adapt to their new circumstances Toyota and Braun decided to present the couple with a new van of their very own on at their wedding reception. Now, they the strong, happy couple doesn't have to worry about what they're going to do when they're asked to return the loan van. They have one all their own!
